St. James’s Place announces Penny James to join its Board as Independent Director

– UK, Cirencester –  St. James’s Place plc (LON: STJ), announced the appointment of Penny James to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director effective from 1 July 2025.

“I am delighted that Penny has agreed to join the Board, bringing with her a deep understanding of financial services. As a former FTSE 100 CEO and SID, current co-chair of the FTSE Women Leaders Review and with an extensive portfolio of executive and non-executive roles, she has strong leadership skills and financial and risk expertise which will benefit the Board and wider organisation greatly,” said Board chair, Paul Manduca.

Penny James will also join the Risk Committee and the Group Audit Committee.

About Penny James

Penny James has extensive financial services experience across investment and insurance. She has served as CFO at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd and Omega Insurance Holdings Ltd, CRO at Prudential plc, and CEO at Direct Line Insurance Group plc. Penny James has also held positions as a non-executive director of Admiral Group plc and served as Senior Independent Director and a member of the risk and nomination & governance committees of Hargreaves Lansdown plc until 24 March 2025.

Since 2024, Penny James has been a non-executive director at Mitie Group plc, Vitality Health Ltd and QBE Insurance Group Ltd. She has been the co-chair of the FTSE Women Leaders Review since 2022.
