– UK, London – Schroder Japan Trust plc (LON: SJG) announced the appointments of Samantha Wren and Merryn Somerset Webb to its Board as independent non-executive directors, effective July 4, 2024.
Samantha will succeed Belinda Richards as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Both Samantha and Merryn will join the Management Engagement Committee and the Nomination Committee.
About Samantha Wren
Samantha Wren brings extensive accounting and auditing experience. She was the CEO of IPGL Limited and has served as CFO and COO of NEX Group plc. She is currently a non-executive director at Chapel Down Group plc and The City of London Investment Trust plc. Samantha holds 1,650 ordinary shares in Schroder Japan Trust plc.
About Merryn Somerset Webb
Merryn Somerset Webb is a financial expert and senior columnist for Bloomberg Opinion, formerly Editor-in-Chief of MoneyWeek. She has held non-executive directorships at various companies and is currently a director at BlackRock Throgmorton Trust plc. Merryn also has experience in Japanese equities with UBS Warburg.
