– IRELAND, Dublin – AIB Group plc (LON: AIBG), today announced the appointments of Tanya Horgan and Jan Sijbrand to its Board as Independent non-executive Directors with immediate effect.
“We are delighted to announce Tanya and Jan’s appointments and welcome them to the Board of AIB. We expect that Tanya’s diverse experience, including the areas of compliance and risk management, and Jan’s risk management, financial services, banking and regulatory experience, will be of great benefit to the Board, the Risk Committee and the Group.” said Deputy Chair, Brendan McDonagh.
They will both join the Risk Committee.
About Tanya Horgan
Ms Horgan is a chartered accountant with extensive industry-based experience in the areas of compliance, internal audit, and risk management and has over twenty years of experience in publicly listed companies. Ms. Horgan trained and qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has since held roles in several organizations including Tesco, Mercury Engineering, Paddy Power Betfair plc, and, most recently, was the Group Chief Risk Officer of Flutter Entertainment plc.
About Jan Sijbrand
Mr Sijbrand has had an extensive executive career including roles in Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Rabobank Nederland, ABN AMRO Holding N.V., and NIBC Bank N.V. and was a Member of the Executive Board and Chairman for Supervision at De Nederlandsche Bank N.V. (the central bank of the Netherlands). He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board and Chair of the Public Interest Committee of PricewaterhouseCoopers Nederland and joined the Global Board of PwC in June 2021.
