Zuger Kantonalbank announces Hanspeter Rhyner as next CEO

– SWITZERLAND Zug –  Zuger Kantonalbank (SWX: ZUGER) today announced that its Board has elected Hanspeter Rhyner as its new CEO, succeeding Pascal Niquille, who will retire in May 2021 after more than eleven years as CEO. Hanspeter Rhyner will take up his position at Zuger Kantonalbank in spring 2021.

Pascal Niquille has been CEO of Zuger Kantonalbank since 2009. He will reach regulatory retirement age in May 2021 and hand over his office. Under Pascal Niquille’s leadership, the bank has implemented important strategic changes. These include in particular the repositioning as an asset manager, the expansion of digital services and processes, and healthy growth in the lending business. His prudent and far-sighted approach has played a major role in ensuring that Zuger Kantonalbank is solidly positioned and successful in the market. Zuger Kantonalbank is one of the best-capitalized banks in Switzerland.
