(TSX: VCM) today announced the appointment of Sam Chernak to its Board as an Independent Director, effective on December 19, 2023, bringing 40 years of experience in the cable and telecom industry and most recently retired after almost 30 years of service with Comcast.

About Samuel Chernak
Sam Chernak has held a variety of senior executive roles, including leading engineering and operations for Comcast’s cellular and digital voice businesses, leading Access Network technology development and capacity planning to drive the operator’s high-speed internet and IP video products, and running transformational acquisitions and major business units. Before Comcast, Mr. Chernak held senior Product Management roles at Unitel in Toronto, Ontario, and Impact Telecom. He started his career at Bell Labs, the then research and innovation unit of AT&T.
Sam Chernak holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Math from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University.
