– USA, CA –  Ultima Genomics, a developer of an innovative new ultra-high throughput sequencing architecture, announced the appointment of Mark Stevenson to its Board of Directors, bringing more than 30 years of experience and leadership in the Life Sciences sector.

About Mark Stevenson

Most recently Mark Stevenson was serving as VP and COO at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he was responsible for the portfolio of life science, analytical and diagnostic businesses, innovation, and digital strategy.

Mark Stevenson continues to serve on the Scientific Advisory Board of Thermo Fisher Scientific. He is also on the boards of Ingersoll Rand Inc. (NYSE: IR), and Harbinger Health and is a senior advisor at General Atlantic.

“Ultima has demonstrated a commitment to challenging the conventional approach, shown through its progress in maturing such a differentiated technology,” said Mark Stevenson. “We are still in the early days of genomics’ impact on healthcare, and technological advancements like Ultima’s sequencing technology will enable more research and better clinical tests to advance the life sciences field. I believe this technology has the potential to open entirely new opportunities to deploy genomics at scale.”

About Ultima Genomics

Ultima Genomics is unleashing the power of genomics at scale. The Company’s mission is to continuously drive the scale of genomic information to enable unprecedented advances in biology and improvements in human health. With humanity on the cusp of a biological revolution, there is a virtually endless need for more genomic information to address biology’s complexity and dynamic change—and a further need to challenge conventional next-generation sequencing technologies. Ultima’s revolutionary new sequencing architecture drives down sequencing costs to help overcome the tradeoffs that scientists and clinicians are forced to make between the breadth, depth, and frequency with which they use genomic information. The new sequencing architecture was designed to scale far beyond conventional sequencing technologies, lower the cost of genomic information, and catalyze the next phase of genomics in the 21st century.
