– UK, London – The Board of Smithson Investment Trust plc (LON: SSON), announced the appointment of Mike Balfour to its Board as a non-executive director with immediate effect, succeeding Diana Dyer Bartlett as Chair of the Company.
Lord St John of Bletso is retiring from the Board with immediate effect.

Mike Balfour is a non-executive director and Chair of Fidelity China Special Situations plc and abrdn Property Income Trust plc, which is being wound up. He was formerly a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Schroder BSC Social Impact Trust plc and a non-executive director of Perpetual Income Growth Investment Trust plc.
