Smithson Investment Trust welcomes Sarika Patel to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London –  Smithson Investment Trust plc (LON: SSON), announced the appointment of Sarika Patel to its Board as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Sarika Patel will also join the Audit Committee as Chair.

About Sarika Patel

Sarika Patel is Chair of Aberdeen Equity Income Trust plc and serves as Chair of Action for Children, as well as chairing the Audit and Risk Committees of SDCL Energy Efficiency Income Trust plc and Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc. She is an experienced business leader, having worked as a senior corporate finance professional at Zeus Caps and Grant Thornton.

Previously, Sarika Patel was Audit and Risk Committee Chair of both Foresight Sustainable Forest Company and Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund, and also served as a non-executive Director of the Office for Nuclear Regulation. She is a chartered accountant and a chartered marketer, and holds an LLB from the University of Mumbai and an MSC E-business from the University of the West of Scotland. Mrs Patel holds no shares in the Company.
