Sanderson Wealth Management appoints Justin Sanderson as CEO alongside founder John Sanderson stepping to Executive Chairman

– USA, NY –  Sanderson Wealth Management, a leading wealth management firm headquartered in Buffalo, NY, today announced the appointment of Justin Sanderson as CEO alongside founder, John Sanderson, who is stepping to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board

“When I founded Sanderson, we had three advisers, including myself, and $160mm assets under management,” said John Sanderson. “Throughout the past 20 years, we have grown to become one of the top 100 fee-only wealth management firms in the country, serving clients in 27 states. Justin has played a significant role in the company’s expansion — from both an adviser and client acquisition perspective, as well as further establishing Sanderson as a leading Buffalo-based fee-only advisory firm.”

Sanderson Wealth Management, previously Sanderson & Company, was founded in 2001 by John Sanderson who spent the first 27-years of his career serving in various roles including managing partner of the Buffalo office of Ernst & Young. Sanderson purchased the practice from EY and established the boutique advisory firm created to serve the sophisticated and complex financial needs of high-net-worth individuals and families.

About Justin Sanderson

Justin Sanderson joined Sanderson in 2001 and quickly became a trusted leader within the organization, growing both the team and the firm’s digital infrastructure before being named vice president in 2008. His commitment to fostering a collegial environment in a competitive industry has resulted in an adviser retention rate that is 10 times higher than the industry average.

In 2011, Justin led the firm’s re-branding initiative, renaming the company Sanderson Wealth Management which honors its legacy brand, and speaks to its unique, yet comprehensive, approach to financial services.

“My Dad built the foundation to what is now Sanderson Wealth Management, and his values, principles, and integrity are woven through every fiber of our firm,” said Justin Sanderson. “Our core beliefs that were defined by my father’s passion and commitment for helping our clients succeed will continue to guide our team as we head into this chapter.”

In 2014, Justin was instrumental in renewing the company’s headquarters location lease in downtown Buffalo — a space that has been with the firm since its inception in 2001. Throughout the past two decades, Sanderson has acquired more than 9,000 square feet of office space to accommodate its growth, re-affirming the company’s commitment to remaining a Buffalo-based organization.

“Buffalo is Sanderson’s home. We’re proud of our employees and the valuable work they do on behalf of our clients. My Dad chose to build his business here, raise his children here, and support cultural institutions that make Western New York a truly special place to live. I am honored and humbled to follow in my father’s footsteps and serve as the firm’s next top executive,” said Justin Sanderson.
