– UK, London – Primary Health Properties PLC announces that the current non-executive Chairman, Graeme Elliot, will retire from the Board at the end of the Annual General Meeting in April 2014. Alun Jones the current senior independent non-executive director and Chairman of the Audit Committee will become Chairman from that date.
The Board further announces the appointment of Steven Owen as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2014. A chartered accountant, Steven is currently CEO and Partner of Wye Valley Partners LLP, and was Deputy CEO and Finance Director at Brixton plc until 2009. It is intended that Steven will become chairman of the audit committee following the 2014 AGM .
Alun Jones, Senior Independent Director, commented: “Under Graeme’s stewardship the Company has been a successful listed REIT and become the leading investor in primary healthcare facilities. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank him for the material contribution he has made to the Company over many years. He has many years of experience in the commercial property arena and will be a strong addition to the Board.”

Alun Jones joined the Board as a non-executive director in May 2007.
