– UK, Handforth – Pets at Home Group plc (LON: PETS), the UK’s leading pet care business, today announced the appointment of Roger Burnley CBE to its Board as an independent non-executive director effective from 14 February 2023.

Roger has deep knowledge of the retail sector and food supply chains and his experience will be of great value to Pets at Home as it embarks on the next stage of its ambitious strategic plan. The directors and I look forward to working with Roger next year,” said Board Chairman, Ian Burke.
Roger Burnley will also join the Audit and Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee, Nomination, and Corporate Governance Committee, and ESG Committee.
The company also announced the appointment of Zarin Patel as Senior Independent Director effective from 14 February 2023, to replace Dennis Millard who will stand down from that position.
Sharon Flood and Stanislas Laurent will step down from the board in May 2023.
About Roger Burnley
Roger Burnley is an experienced retailer who spent ten years as an executive director of Sainsbury’s before joining Asda as its Chief Operating Officer in 2016 and becoming its CEO in 2017. He left Asda in August 2021 after four years as CEO and was appointed CBE in the 2022 New Year Honours list for services to the food supply chain. In 2022, Roger took on the position of non-executive chairman of Finnbrogue Artisan, an Irish food manufacturer.
