Microsaic Systems appoints Gerard Brandon to its Board as Non-Executive Chairman alongside Dr Nigel Burton joining as Non-executive Director

– UK, Woking –  Microsaic Systems plc (LON: MSYS), the point-of-need mass spectrometry company, today announced the appointments of Gerard Brandon and Dr. Nigel Burton to its Board as Non-Executive Chairman and Non-executive Director respectively, effective immediately.

The Finance & Audit and Remuneration Committees will be chaired by Dr. Nigel Burton, and Gerard Brandon will be a member of both committees.

Dr. Nigel Burton will assume the responsibilities of Senior Non-Executive Director.

The company also announced Peter Grant, Non-executive Chairman, and Eric Yeatman, Non-executive Director, stepped down from the Board today.

Investing in the recent Placing and taking our respective Director fees only in shares, we have full confidence for the future of Microsaic.” said new Board Chairman, Gerard Brandon.

He added: “The Company would also like to take this opportunity to thank Peter Grant for his contribution as Chairman over the past three years and Professor Eric Yeatman for his contribution as one of the original founders of the Company and a Director since 2001. We are pleased to be retaining Eric as a consultant to the Company given his expert knowledge of the Company’s technology and business.”

About Gerard Brandon

Gerard Brandon is CEO of both DeepVerge plc and Cellulac plc. In 1996 he became founder and CEO of Alltracel Pharmaceuticals plc, where he built a team which oversaw numerous patents granted on refined cellulose. Alltracel was admitted to trading on AIM in 2001. In 2004, he was appointed as a Managing Partner for Farmabrand Private Equity. In March 2020, he was appointed as a Non-executive Chairman to Modern Water plc, which was subsequently acquired by DeepVerge plc (formerly Integumen plc) in November 2020. Gerard is a Fellow of the Ryan Academy of Entrepreneurs in Dublin.

Dr. Nigel Burton spent over 14 years as an investment banker at leading City institutions including UBS Warburg and Deutsche Bank, including as the Managing Director responsible for the energy and utility industries. Nigel spent 15 years as CFO or CEO of several private and public companies.

Nigel is currently a Non-executive Director of LSE Main Market listed BlackRock Throgmorton Trust plc and of the AIM-quoted companies Digitalbox plc, eEnergy Group plc, and Mobile Streams plc. In February 2020, he was appointed as a Non-executive Director of Modern Water plc, which was subsequently acquired by DeepVerge plc in November 2020, following which he became a Non-executive Director of DeepVerge plc.
