– UK, London – Marks and Spencer Group Plc (LON: MKS) today announced the appointment of Board member Andrew Fisher as Senior Independent Director effective from 31 December 2022, to succeed Andy Halford who will step down from the Board at the same time.
About Andrew Fisher
Andrew Fisher is Chair of Rightmove plc, an FTSE 100 Company, and Chair of Epidemic Sound a privately held company backed by Blackstone and EQT. He joined the Board of Marks and Spencer in December 2015 as a Non-Executive Director and is Chair of the Remuneration Committee.
He was appointed CEO of Shazam in March 2005 and became Executive Chairman in 2013. During Andrew’s tenure, Shazam became one of the world’s leading mobile brands with over 1 billion users. The company was acquired by Apple in 2018.
Andrew has previously been a Non-Executive Director of MoneySuperMarket Group plc and Merlin Entertainments plc.
Andrew was awarded an O.B.E. for services to the digital economy in 2016.
