IWG appoints Sophie L’Helias to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– SWITZERLAND, Zug –  IWG plc (LON: IWG), the global operator of leading co-work and workspace brands, today announced the appointment of Sophie L’Helias to its Board as a Non-Executive Director effective on 1st December 2022.

“We are delighted that Sophie will join the Board. Her strong knowledge of financial markets, extensive corporate governance experience and relevant ESG knowledge will be of great value to the Board as we pursue the flexible workspace opportunities as afforded by hybrid working becoming the preferred operational model for businesses around the world,” said Board Chairman, Douglas Sutherland.

The company also announced that Florence Pierre stepped down as Non-Executive Director on 30 November 2022.

About Sophie L’Helias

A trained lawyer, Sophie L’Helias practiced in New York and Paris for several years before specializing in finance as Managing Director of a New York-based investment fund. She also launched an investment consulting business focused on international corporate governance. Specializing in corporate governance and ESG, Sophie is a co-founder of the International Corporate Governance Network. She is currently the President of LeaderXXchange which creates methodologies and products to assess, optimize and integrate diversity, sustainability, and governance strategies for investors, corporates, and boards of directors.

Sophie L’Helias serves as Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Herbalife (NYSE); Africa50; Agence France-Locale; Echiquier Positive Impact Europe funds; and the ECGI (European Corporate Governance Institute). She is a member of the HCGE (Haut Comité de Gouvernement d’Entreprise) and is a Senior Fellow at The Conference Board ESG Center in New York.

Sophie L’Helias also recently served as Independent Chair of Suez SA (Euronext, now delisted) where she oversaw the conclusion of its merger with Veolia, and as the lead independent director of Kering (Euronext).

Sophie L’Helias is the recipient of the 2019 International Corporate Governance Network Lifetime Achievement Award in Corporate Governance; the 2019 New York Women in Asset Management Award – ESG; the 2018 Global Proxy Watch GPW 10 Award that designates the ten most salutary corporate governance influences in the world each year and was featured in Forbes 40 French Women Leaders list in 2019.
