– UK, Solihull – Hill & Smith PLC (LON: HILS), the international provider of sustainable infrastructure products and services, today announced the appointment of Carol Chesney to its Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2024.

Carol Chesney will also join the Nomination and the Remuneration Committees as a member and the Audit Committee as Chair-designate.
As previously communicated, Mark Reckitt will retire from the Board at the AGM in May 2024, having joined the Board in 2016. Carol will take over from Mark as Chair of the Audit Committee following the AGM.

A qualified chartered accountant and experienced PLC non-executive Director and Audit Committee Chair, Carol Chesney has a very strong background in the international engineering sector, both with Halma in executive roles and as a former non-executive director of Renishaw, with more recent exposure to the high technology, energy, and infrastructure sectors. During her executive career of over 23 years at Halma, Carol held several senior group finance roles and was later Company Secretary.
