Digitalbox welcomes Phil Machray to its Board as Independent Director

– UK, Bath – Digitalbox plc (LON: DBOX), the mobile-first digital media business, which owns Entertainment Daily, The Daily Mash and The Tab, today announced the appointment of Phil Machray to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

“I would like to welcome Phil, whose proven media industry track record and extensive M&A experience will be invaluable as we continue to execute our buy and build strategy, taking advantage of opportunities in the changing media landscape. We look forward to working with him as we focus on delivering our strategy.” said Board Chairman, Marcus Rich.

Concurently, Matthew Armitage is stepping down from his temporary position as Non-Executive Director.

Marcus Rich added: “I would like to thank Matt for his help during the short period I have been Chairman. His support and PLC experience during a time of board transition has been hugely valuable.”

About Phil Machray

Phil brings more than 25 years of experience in the media industry to the Company, having held numerous senior leadership positions at executive and Board levels. Since 2004, Phil has worked for Reach Plc (formerly Trinity Mirror plc), the largest commercial, national and regional news publisher in the UK, as Director of Corporate Development, Chief Operating Officer of Regionals, and Managing Director of Digital Marketing Services.

Phil managed the integration of The Hotgroup Plc into the Trinity Mirror Group in 2005 following its acquisition. He later acted as a non-executive on the boards of several digital and growth joint venture companies. Prior to this, Phil worked for Deloitte LLP as a Director in Assurance & Advisory.
