De La Rue announces to the Board: Maria Cunha and Sabri Challah as Non-Executive Directors, and Rupert Middleton as Executive Director

– UK, Basingstoke – De La Rue plc announces that, having served nine years as a Non-executive Director, Gill Rider has advised the Board that she intends to step down at the Company’s AGM on 23 July 2015. Dr Rider was appointed as a Non-executive Director of De La Rue plc on 22 June 2006 and is currently Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.

The Company is pleased to announce the appointments of Maria Da Cunha and Sabri Challah as Non-executive Directors of the Company with effect from 23 July 2015.

Ms Da Cunha is currently Director of People and Legal at British Airways plc, a position she has held since 2011. Ms Da Cunha joined British Airways in 2000 and has extensive experience of people strategy, including culture change, talent management and learning and development, as well as experience in high profile and complex international legal matters and international government and regulatory affairs. She is a member of British Airways’ Executive Board.

Dr Challah, following a 28 year career with Deloitte, the multinational professional services firm, has significant and wide ranging experience in organisational design, change management, strategy, and corporate development. As a partner at Deloitte between 1991 and 2013, he held a range of positions and served as a Member of both the Global and UK Board (where he was Chairman of the Remuneration Committee). His work for clients across a range of industries includes significant experience in the public sector.

Dr Challah will succeed Gill Rider as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Rupert Middleton, Chief Operating Officer, to the Board as an Executive Director of the Company with effect from 23 July 2015. Mr Middleton joined De La Rue in October 2011 and has extensive experience of manufacturing with a particular emphasis on printing. During his time with De La Rue Mr Middleton has transformed the Manufacturing function through the implementation of an operational excellence programme. Previously he was Group Director of Manufacturing at Trinity Mirror, responsible for the integrated manufacturing division.

The new appointments will take effect immediately following the Annual General Meeting of the Company on 23 July 2015.

As previously announced, Warren East will step down as a Non-executive Director at the Company’s AGM on 23July 2015. Andrew Stevens will succeed Mr East as the Senior Independent Director and Victoria Jarman will succeed Mr East as Chairman of the Audit Committee.
