City of London Investment Trust announces Sir Laurie Magnus to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – City of London Investment Trust plc (LON: CTY) today announced the appointment of Sir Laurie Magnus as a non-executive Director with effect from 1 March 2020.

It is the Board’s intention that Sir Laurie Magnus will become Chairman of the Company following the retirement of Philip Remnant at the Annual General Meeting on October 2020.

The Board also announces that Simon Barratt is to retire from the Board on 1 January 2020.

Sir Laurie Magnus is a Senior Advisor at Evercore Partners, the investment banking group. He has over 40 years’ experience in the corporate finance advisory business. Currently, Sir Laurie is Chairman of Pantheon International plc and JP Morgan Multi-Asset Trust Plc. He is also a non-executive director of Aggregated Micro Power Holdings plc and Fidelity Japan Trust plc, the latter of which he is to retire in May 2020. In the not for profit sector, he is Chairman of Historic England.
