Centrica welcomes Jo Harlow and Sue Whalley to its Board as Non-Executive Directors

– UK, Windsor –  Centrica plc (LON: CNA) today announced the appointments of Jo Harlow and Sue Whalley to its Board as Non-Executive Directors effective from 1 December 2023.

Jo will bring extensive knowledge on the use of technology and data to enhance product development and drive growth in consumer businesses. Sue brings a blend of experience in people and cultural transformation, and strategic, technological, and operational evolution in large, complex organisations. Their valuable experience will be of great benefit to Centrica.” said Board chair, Scott Wheway.

They will also join the Remuneration Committee and Nominations Committee.

About Jo Harlow

Jo Harlow has more than 25 years of experience working in various senior roles, predominantly in the branded and technology sectors. Prior to her non-executive career, Jo held the position of Corporate VP of the Phones Business Unit at Microsoft. She previously spent 11 years at Nokia Corporation in several senior management roles, including EVP of Smart Devices.

Jo Harlow currently serves as Non-Executive Director and Remuneration Committee Chair at InterContinental Hotels Group PLC and J Sainsbury plc, and as Senior Independent Director and Remuneration Committee Chair at Halma plc. She is also a Non-Executive Director at Chapter Zero Limited. Jo will retire from the Board of InterContinental Hotels Group PLC on 31 December 2023. Jo was also previously a Non-Executive Director of Ceconomy AG from 2017 to 2021.

Jo Harlow attended Duke University in North Carolina and has a BSc in Psychology.

About Sue Whalley

Sue Whalley is CPPO at Associated British Foods plc, having been appointed to the role in 2019. Before joining ABF, Sue spent 12 years at Royal Mail Group, where she held several executive roles including CEO of the Post & Parcels division and COO. Before that, Sue was a Partner at McKinsey & Company where she spent nearly 18 years in management consultancy.

Sue Whalley is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
