BAE Systems appoints Elaine Luria to its Board of Directors

– USA, VA –  BAE Systems, Inc. (LON: BA), today announced the appointment of Elaine Luria to its Board of Directors.

Her knowledge of national security and our industry is rooted in decades of experience serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy, as well as her time serving in Congress. About Elaine Luria

From 2019 to 2023, Elaine Luria represented Virginia’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she served as vice chair of the Armed Services Committee and as a member of the Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security committees.

Before her time in Congress, Elaine Luria completed a 20-year active duty career in the U.S. Navy, serving as a nuclear-trained Surface Warfare Officer, with six deployments to the Middle East and Western Pacific. Her final tour was as the commanding officer of Assault Craft Unit TWO.

Elaine Luria holds a bachelor’s in Physics and History from the U.S. Naval Academy and is a Naval Nuclear Power School and Naval War College graduate. Luria also holds a master’s in engineering management from Old Dominion University.

Elaine Luria earned numerous awards and decorations during her military service, including the Defense Meritorious Service, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (multiple awards medal), and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement medaMedall.
