– UK, Warrington – Assura plc (LON: AGR), the UK’s leading primary care property investor and developer, today announced the Board’s intention to appoint Emma Cariaga, Noel Gordon, and Dr. Sam Barrell CBE to its Board as non-executive directors on 1 May 2021.
“As Assura moves to the next phase of its growth, we look forward to welcoming Emma, Noel and Sam to the Board, who will bring an extensive array of new skills and expertise and provide crucial counsel as Assura continues to create the future community health service space for the country.” said Non-Executive Chairman, Ed Smith.
The company also announced that Jenefer Greenwood intends to retire from the Board after the 2021 AGM on 6 July 2021.
Ed Smith added: “I would first sincerely like to thank Jenefer for her significant contribution to Assura over the last nine years, a period during which the Group has been transformed and its future growth prospects have never looked better. We all wish her the very best.”

Emma Cariaga is the Joint Head of Canada Water Development on the Executive Committee of British Land and brings strong property skills and experience to Assura. Before British Land, she worked at LandSec and in development and land management at Barratt and Crest Nicholson.

Noel Gordon is a recognized figure across the UK health system, with a strong background in digital technologies across several industries. His previous positions include Global Managing Director in Accenture, Chair of NHS Digital, and as a non-executive director on the Board of NHS England.
About Dr. Sam Barrell
Dr. Sam Barrell is COO of the Crick Institute responsible for leading the operational management and running of the institute. Before the Crick Institute, she was Chief Executive of the Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and is currently a non-executive director of York Health Economics Consortium, a subsidiary of York University.
