Aberdeen Smaller Companies Income Trust appoints Christopher Metcalfe to its Board as Independent Director

– UK, London –  Aberdeen Smaller Companies Income Trust PLC (LON: ASCI) today announced the appointment of Christopher Metcalfe to its Board as an independent non-executive Director, effective immediately.

“We are delighted to welcome Christopher to the Board. He brings a wealth of knowledge in relation to closed-end funds, including experience of the Smaller Companies Sector.” commented, Board Chairman.

The company also confirmed that Barry Rose has retired from the board.

Christopher Metcalfe has over 30 years of experience in investment management, has been an investment manager at Newton Investment Management from 2006-2017, and before that at Schroder Investment Management and Henderson Administration Group.

He is currently a non-executive director of Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc and JP Morgan US Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc.
