– UK, London – 3i Group PLC (LON: III) today announced the appointment of current Strategy Director James Hatchley to its Board as Group Finance Director and member of the Executive Committee, effective May 2022, succeeding Julia Wilson who will retire after the AGM in June 2022.

He has already added significant value to the Group in his current Strategy role, in his contribution to the Investment Committee, and to specific assets within the Group portfolio including Action and Scandlines. About James Hatchley
James Hatchley joined 3i in 2017 as the Group’s Strategy Director and has been a member of the Investment Committee since 2019. Before joining 3i, James was COO of KKR in Europe and, before that, Co-CEO of Avoca Capital. Earlier in his career, James was a corporate finance professional for 20 years, principally with Greenhill & Co. and Schroders, and is a Chartered Accountant.
James Hatchley is also the Senior Independent Director of Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and is the Chair of the Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Remuneration and Finance and Investment Committees and a member of its Audit and People and Education Assurance Committees. James is a Board member of a 3i portfolio investment company, Scandlines Infrastructure ApS, and Chair of its Audit and Risk Committee.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 and holds a First Class Joint Honours degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Surrey.
