Wincanton announces Richard Adam to Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK – Wincanton Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Adam as a non-executive director with effect from 1 June 2014.

Richard Adam is Group Finance Director at Carillion plc, a position he has held since 2007. He was previously non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of SSL International plc and Zattikka plc.

From appointment, Richard will join the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees. It is envisaged that Richard will chair the Audit Committee in due course.

It is also announced that after nearly nine years as a non-executive Director, Jonson Cox will step down from the Board with effect from 31 May 2014. Jonson leaves with the Board’s best wishes for the future and with thanks for the personal commitment he has shown to Wincanton during his time on the board.

Steve Marshall, Chairman of Wincanton said, “I am delighted that Richard will be joining the Board. Richard is an experienced Group Finance Director and Audit Committee chair. He also has hands on experience of the competitive business services and contracting environment of the type in which Wincanton operates. My personal thanks also go to Jonson for his valued contribution during his period on the Wincanton Board.”
