– UK – Wilmington Group plc today announces that Pedro Ros will join the Board of Wilmington on 14 July 2014 and will assume the role of Group Chief Executive on 1 October 2014 following the publication of the Group’s preliminary 2014 results and completion of the associated investor roadshow. This follows the announcement of Charles Brady’s retirement made on 25 February 2014.
Mr Ros (52) was, until June 2012, CEO and then Chairman of TNS, a global subsidiary of WPP plc, present in 80 countries and a world leader in market information and business analysis.
From January 2006 until the acquisition of TNS by WPP in October 2008, Mr Ros was executive director of Taylor Nelson Sofres plc, and Managing Director, TNS Global Clients & Sectors.
While working at TNS, Mr Ros undertook various roles, including Regional Director and Divisional Global Head; he contributed to a sustained period of organic growth, complemented by selective acquisitions which he successfully integrated into the enlarged group.
Mr Ros is Head of Strategic Insight at Creston plc, the digitally focused insight and communications group, a role which he will relinquish on 13 June 2014.
Mark Asplin, Chairman of Wilmington Group plc, said: “The Board is delighted to welcome Pedro to Wilmington. His global experience combined with his proven ability to grow information and professional services businesses both organically and through successfully integrated acquisitions make him a natural choice for us. Pedro is taking on a strong platform at Wilmington which is well positioned for the next phase of its evolution.”
Pedro Ros said: “Wilmington has leading market positions in its increasingly global core markets. An ongoing focus on developing a high value offer, a leading digital strategy and an ambitious international growth agenda will allow us to deliver value for both our customers and our shareholders, capitalising on our current and future opportunities”.
