VR Education appoints Dr Harry Kloor to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – VR Education Holdings PLC (LON: VRE | EPA: 6VR), a leading virtual reality technology company focused on the education and enterprise training space, announced the appointment of Dr Harry Kloor to its Board as a Non-Executive Director effective immediately.

Concurrent with the appointment of Dr Harry Kloor, Mike Boyce, who has been a Non-Executive Director of the Company since February 2018, is stepping down from the Board to pursue other business interests. Following a brief transition period, Mike will officially step down from the Board on 31 August 2020.

“I am delighted to welcome Harry to the Board. He has deep experience in the education sector and in driving adoption of new technologies, particularly in the important US marketplace. We look forward to his insight and support as we continue to deliver on our strategy and benefit from the increasing interest in VR in multiple sectors.” said Board Chairman, Richard Cooper.

He added: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Mike for his counsel and support since VR Education floated in 2018 and wish him well in the future.”

About Dr Harry Kloor

Based in the United States, Harry is an entrepreneur, scientist, technologist, educator, policy advisor, and Hollywood producer and writer. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of Beyond Imagination, a company seeking to build general-purpose robotic humanoids. Harry is involved in the education sector and has significant experience in bringing science to the public. He has worked as an advisor for NASA, US Senate, Jet Propulsion Laboratories, and numerous other science organisations. Dr. Kloor was also one of the five founding team members of XPRIZE, the non-profit organisation that designs and hosts public competitions intended to encourage technological development to benefit humanity. He has worked with a large number of scientific organisations, universities, and companies to advance technologies ranging from robotics, virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, deep machine learning, sensor networks, IOT, haptics and holography.

Dr. Harry Kloor commented: “I am thrilled to be joining the board of VR Education Holdings plc. I have spent decades immersed in XR technologies, and their applications in entertainment, medicine, social networking, and most importantly education. The ENGAGE platform is exactly what is needed in a world which is now working much more remotely than before. There is only so much you can do via video conferencing: looking at a flat screen is a poor substitute for really being at a location, but with ENGAGE you can learn as if you are actually in a classroom, collaborate, or be entertained in so many different ways. ENGAGE shatters the barrier and fears many I think face when thinking about how to utilise VR environments, making it an easy system to fulfil ones needs. I look forward to sharing my ideas and assisting the Company as best as I can as a board member.”
