– VIETNAM, Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam Enterprise Investments Ltd (LSE:VEIL) announced today the appointment of Ms Vi Le Peterson as an independent non-executive director with effect from 24 April 2018.
Ms Peterson is an international business consultant resident in Melbourne Australia, from where she advises multinational corporations on trade and investment in Thailand and Vietnam.
Between 1981 and 1996, Ms Peterson was a banking executive with the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ). Between 1993 and 1996, she helped establish ANZ’s greenfield operations in Vietnam and served as ANZ’s Deputy General Manager based in Hanoi. From 1996 to 1999, Ms Peterson served as Minister-Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner for Vietnam, based at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi.
Ms Peterson is the co-founder and executive director of The Alliance for Safe Children, a not-for-profit organisation which seeks to prevent child death and disability arising from preventable injuries across Asia.
Ms Peterson holds several other non-executive positions including as a member of the Council of Swinburne University of Technology, chair of the Council of International House, a residential college of the University of Melbourne, and director of Media Blender Pty Ltd, a start-up company producing software for the global digital magazine market.
Ms Peterson has a B Comm. from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Finance from Swinburne University of Technology. In addition to English and Vietnamese, she speaks French and Thai.
