– VIETNAM, Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam Enterprise Investments Ltd (LON: VEIL) today announced the appointment of Professor Entela Benz-Saliasi as an independent non-executive director with effect from 16 May 2019.
Professor Benz-Saliasi is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at the University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, and a consultant on impact investing; responsible investment; and environmental, social and governance investing.
Professor Benz-Saliasi sits on the ESG Board of the Hong Kong Green Finance Association; the Board of Advisors of International Care Ministries; and the Friends of the Earth Advisory Board.
Professor Benz-Saliasi started her career with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Albania, and then joined Longitude Investment SA, a hedge fund, in Geneva, Switzerland. Between 2004 and 2007, Professor Benz-Saliasi worked with UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong, before joining HKUST in 2008.
As part of the HKUST Business School, she delivers ESG training courses for corporate entities.
She is also the founder and managing director of two software platforms. The latest one uses deep learning and big data for better prediction and pricing of climate change and weather risk.
Professor Benz-Saliasi holds a BA in Finance and Banking from the University of Tirana, Albania and the University of Macerata, Italy; a Certificate in Studies in Finance from Oxford University; an MPhil in International Relations and Economics from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva; and a PhD in Financial Asset Management and Engineering from the University of Lausanne.
