Verge.io appoints Mike Wall to its Board of Directors as Chairman

– USA, MI –  Verge.io, the company with a simpler way to virtualize data centers, today announced the appointment of Mike Wall as Chairman of its board of directors.

“Mike has extensive board experience from mature technologies to venture-backed companies, from global leaders to disruptors, and contributes much-appreciated market wisdom. The shifts in our category resulting from recent acquisitions are creating enormous opportunities and Mike’s strategic sense can help us capitalize on them,” said Verge.io CEO Yan Ness. “

About Mike Wall

Mike Wall is a seasoned executive with a history of leading the introduction of disruptive technologies and leadership in both the C-suite and boardroom. He was chairman and CEO of Amplidata, a leading object storage software company, and led its sale to Western Digital in March 2015. Before Amplidata he was CEO and member of the board of storage innovator Atempo (acquired by Allen Systems Group) and before that, CEO and member of the board of the cloud SaaS medical imaging platform DICOM Grid.

Mike Wall was GM of Intel’s Storage Group, where he led the industry’s transition to storage systems designed with commodity microprocessors and chipsets. Under his leadership revenue grew from zero to a $500 million annual run rate. Before taking that role, he led the financial turnaround of Intel’s Supercomputer Systems business and grew revenue to more than $100 million. He is currently on the boards of Axellio and Mach Networks.

“I am honored to be part of the effort to help organizations find simpler, more efficient, and less costly ways to deploy their infrastructure,” said Mike Wall. “The IT industry has changed dramatically in the past few years, as organizations rely more on cloud platforms, and high-level IT talent is growing scarce. Verge.io addresses these trends and more.”

About Verge.io

Verge.io provides a simpler way to virtualize data centers and end IT infrastructure complexity. The company’s Verge OS software is the first and only fully integrated virtual cloud software stack to build, deploy and manage virtual data centers. Verge-OS delivers significant capital savings, increased operational efficiencies, reduced risk, and rapid scalability.

Verge-OS software delivers virtualized data centers with more compelling economics and efficiencies than competing platforms. Verge-OS abstracts compute, network, and storage from commodity servers and creates pools of raw resources that are simple to run and manage by an IT generalist. A single license replaces disparate hypervisor, network, storage, data protection, and management tools to simplify technology stacks. Secure virtual data centers based on Verge-OS include all enterprise data services like global deduplication, disaster recovery, continuous data protection, snapshots, long-distance synch, and auto-failover.
