Urban Armor Gear appoints Scott Hardy as CEO

– USA, CA –  Urban Armor Gear, a leading designer of rugged, lightweight mobile device cases, today announced the nomination of Scott Hardy as CEO. Mr. Hardy joins UAG with an impressive track record of transforming iconic brands and businesses to drive growth and increase profit.

“We believe Scott’s background in creating, commercializing and launching consumer products that redefine and capture key markets will provide the leadership UAG needs to continue expanding and growing,” said Board Chairman. “UAG was founded with an entrepreneurial spirit, and the Board is excited to have someone with Scott’s experience leading with that same energy and passion.”

Mike Foisy is also the Lead Operations Partner for HKW, which acquired UAG in 2018

UAG Co-Founder Samuel Siu will retain his seat on the Board of Directors as a major shareholder and continue leading the company specifically on product development and supply chain. Co-Founder Steve Armstrong will transition to the advisory role of Founding Member and retain his seat on UAG’s Board of Directors.

About Scott Hardy

Prior to UAG, Mr. Hardy spent two years as President of Blue Zones Brands, driving strategic growth in support of the company’s mission to help people live longer, better lives by improving their environment. Before Blue Zones, Mr. Hardy spent nine years as President and CEO of Polaroid. He was responsible for leading all aspects of Polaroid’s transformation into a world-class brand licensing and product marketing company. He has also held various leadership positions in product marketing at Dell Inc. as well as at Intel.

Mr. Hardy holds an MBA from the Marriott School at Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mandarin Chinese, also from BYU.
