UNS Energy appoints David Hutchens to Board of Directors

– USA, AZ – UNS Energy Corporation (NYSE: UNS) has named President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) David G. Hutchens as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.

“Dave has consistently demonstrated his impressive leadership skills, strong business acumen and deep knowledge about the operations of our business,” said Paul Bonavia, UNS Energy’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “His energy and vision will be a welcome addition to the board as we continue to focus on improving efficiencies and providing value to our customers.”

In August, Hutchens was named COO, reflecting his direct oversight of the business operations of UNS Energy and its primary subsidiaries, including Tucson Electric Power (TEP) and UniSource Energy Services (UES).

Hutchens served five years as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy and worked as an engineer before joining TEP as an energy analyst in July 1995. He later held management positions overseeing wholesale energy sales and, in January 2007, was named Vice President of Wholesale Energy and UNS Gas, an operating subsidiary of UES. He became vice president of Energy Efficiency and Resource Planning in May 2009 and rose to Executive Vice President in March 2011 before being named President in December 2012.

UNS Energy is a Tucson, Arizona-based company with consolidated assets of approximately $4 billion. TEP serves approximately 412,000 customers in southern Arizona. UES provides natural gas and electric service for approximately 242,000 customers in northern and southern Arizona.
