– USA, CA – Twitter Inc., the micro-blogging platform, today announced the appointment of Linda Yaccarino as CEO, while Twitter’s owner and Tesla/SpaceX co-founder Elon Musk takes on the role of executive chairman and CTO, as he announced in a tweet.
Elon Musk will focus on product design and new technologies while continuing to be CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and Linda Yaccarino will focus on business operations, bringing her decades of marketing, operations, and content distribution experience to serve all audiences and businesses.

About Linda Yaccarino
Linda Yaccarino is the former head of advertising at NBCUniversal where she played a key role in the launch of Peacock’s streaming service.
She worked for Turner Entertainment for 15 years, becoming EVP and COO of ad sales where she played a key role in developing innovative advertising and marketing solutions.
Linda Yaccarino joined NBCUniversal in October 2011.
Linda Yaccarino joined the Ad Council in 2014 and became chair of its board of directors in January 2021, for a term that ran until June 30, 2022. She partnered with the Biden administration in 2021 to create a coronavirus vaccine campaign that featured Pope Francis.
In 2018, President Donald Trump appointed her to the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.
She also chaired the Future of Work task force for the World Economic Forum.
She graduated from Pennsylvania State University’s Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications.
