– UK, Leicester – Topps Tiles Plc (LON: TPT), the UK’s leading tile specialist, today announced the appointments of Diana Breeze and Kari Daniels to its Board as Non-Executive Directors, effective respectively on 1st February 2021 and 1st April 2021.
“I am delighted to be announcing these two new appointments – Diana and Kari are both high calibre executives who will be strong additions to our Board, and we are looking forward to working with them.” said Board Chairman, Darren Shapland.
He added: “Diana, as a current HR Director and member of the Executive team of a large-cap business, brings excellent people, organisation and general management skills to Topps and is also well qualified to take over as our Remuneration Committee Chair. Kari is a retail specialist, with a strong background in trading and marketing, and I am also delighted that she be taking responsibility for Employee Engagement, where she has a great track record, as this is an area we put a lot of effort into at Topps.”
The company also announced that Andy King will step down from the Board as Non-executive Director and designated NED for employee engagement, on 20 January 2021, while Claire Tiney will step down from the Board as Non-executive Director On 31 July 2021.
Darren Shapland commented: “I would like to thank Andy and Claire who, having both served nine years with the Board, will be leaving over the current financial year. They have both been excellent and valued contributors to the business, and we wish them well.”
With effect from 20 January 2021 Keith Down, Non-executive Director, will become Senior Independent Director.

Diana Breeze is an experienced HR Director, with broad experience across the retail and consumer, logistics and property sectors. Since 2019 she has been Group HR Director at Bunzl and has previously held senior management positions with Land Securities, J Sainsbury and Accenture.

Kari Daniels is an experienced retail and consumer sector CEO. Currently CEO of Tesco Ireland, Kari joined Tesco in 2002 and has held a number of commercial and marketing directorships across Tesco Europe and Tesco UK. Prior to Tesco Kari held senior management positions at Johnson Wax, Wella and Superdrug.
