– UK, London – Supermarket Income REIT plc (LON: SUPR / JSE: SRI), the real estate investment trust with secure, inflation-linked, long-dated income from grocery property, today announced the appointment of Roger Blundell to its Board as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
“We are pleased to welcome Roger as an independent non-executive director of the Company. Roger’s appointment is made in line with the Board’s succession plan, as detailed in the 2024 Annual Report. We believe that Roger’s knowledge, skills and experience are complementary to those of the existing Directors and that, following an orderly handover, he will be an excellent replacement for Jon in the Audit and Risk Committee Chair role,” said Board Chair, Nick Hewson.
Roger Blundell will also join the Audit & Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee, and Management Engagement Committee and will succeed Jon Austen as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Roger Blundell is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience across a range of sectors, including real estate and retail. He formerly served as CFO of Grosvenor Property UK and Kensington Group plc, with responsibility for financing strategy, corporate and investment transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising. He is currently the Audit Chair of the National Portrait Gallery and holds other non-executive positions with Jersey Electricity plc, University College London, and the Government Property Agency, where he chairs the Investment Committee.
