Superdry announces Helen Weir and Alastair Miller to its Board of Directors

– UK, Cheltenham –  Superdry PLC (LON: SDRY) today announced the appointments of Helen Weir and Alastair Miller to its Board. The appointments will take effect from 11 July 2019. Helen Weir will assume the role of Senior Independent Director and Alastair Miller will become Chair of the Audit Committee.

About Helen Weir

Helen Weir was most recently Chief Financial Officer of Marks & Spencer PLC, a role she held from 2015 to 2018. Prior to this, she was CFO of John Lewis Partnership from 2012 to 2015, and she has also held senior finance roles in Lloyds Banking Group PLC and Kingfisher PLC. She currently sits on the boards of Just Eat PLC and the RFU as well as being a Trustee for the Marie Curie charity. Helen previously served on the boards of SAB Miller plc, Royal Mail Plc and GEMS Education in the UAE.

About Alastair Miller

Alastair Miller served as CFO of New Look Group from 2000 to 2014. Since then he has worked as a retail consultant as well as serving as Senior Independent Director on the board of NewRiver PLC. Earlier in his career, he worked in finance roles in the RAC and BTR PLC.

Both Helen and Alastair have extensive relevant experience in the retail sector and have served as CFOs of major listed companies. As such I am sure they will both prove excellent additions to the Board as Superdry embarks on its turnaround.
