Stibbe appoints Astrid Helstone as Board member, and names Derk Lemstra as upcoming Managing Partner

– NETHERLANDS, Ansterdam – Benelux law firm Stibbe has elected Derk Lemstra as new Managing Partner and Astrid Helstone as board member. The appointment will come in to effect on January 1st 2014.

Together with the current board members Aaldert ten Veen (partner Administrative law) and Marcel Abbringh (COO), Derk Lemstra and Astrid Helstone will form the new Amsterdam board.

Derk Lemstra is partner in the Financial Markets Group of Stibbe and currently heads Stibbe’s Corporate practice. In the past he was resident partner of Stibbe’s offices in New York and London. With his appointment Derk succeeds Heleen Kersten, who took the role of Managing Partner in 2008.

Astrid Helstone is partner in Stibbe’s Employment Practice with a specific focus on executive compensation in the financial sector. She succeeds employment law partner Paul Vestering.

Both Heleen Kersten and Paul Vestering will return to full-time practice at Stibbe. Heleen is a partner in Stibbe’s Corporate practice focusing on M&A and ECM. Paul Vestering is a partner in the Employment- and Pension group.
