St. Modwen Properties announces Jamie Hopkins to its Board as upcoming Non-Executive Director

– UK, Birmingham – St. Modwen Properties PLC (LSE:SMP), the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, announces the appointment of Jamie Hopkins as a non-executive director with effect from 1st March 2018.

Jamie is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Workspace Group plc, a position that he has held since April 2012 having joined the board as a non-executive director in June 2010. Jamie has significant experience and knowledge in the property sector with a career spanning 20 years. He was formerly Chief Executive and then a non-executive director of Mapeley plc and a director of Chester Properties. He has also acted as a director of Delancey Estates and Savills. Jamie will join the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees of the Board.

It is further announced that, due to other portfolio commitments, Richard Mully, Senior Independent Director, will be stepping down after the Company’s Annual General Meeting to be held on 28th March 2018. Kay Chaldecott, non-executive director, will also be stepping down from the Board after the AGM having served almost six years with St. Modwen.

Further to the above, we are pleased to announce that Ian Bull, Chair of the Audit Committee, will take over as Senior Independent Director when Richard steps down from the role in March.

Finally, in line with succession planning arrangements, Jenefer Greenwood, appointed on 1st June 2017, will succeed Lesley James as Chair of the Remuneration Committee after the 2018 AGM, a position that Jenefer currently holds at both Assura plc and DCH Group. Lesley will continue to serve the Board after the AGM in her capacity as non-executive director and will retire from the Board later in 2018.
