Spiezle Architectural announces Skip Cimino as upcoming Chairman and addition of George McCann to the Board of Directors

– USA, NJ – Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc., a Trenton, NJ-based architectural firm that serves clients throughout the Northeast, will appoint a new chairman of the board and has named a new board member.

Anthony J. “Skip” Cimino, senior executive vice president at the Ewing, NJ-based lobbying firm of Kaufman Zita Group LLC, will assume the role of board chairman in April. Cimino, who currently sits on the board, will replace Scott Spiezle who has held the position for the last seven years. In 2012, Spiezle retired as CEO of the firm his father founded 61 years ago.

George McCann, former CEO of CMX, a New Jersey-based, national engineering and consulting firm of 1200 professionals across 22 offices, has been appointed to Spiezle’s board. He fills the seat vacated by James Lynch, a founding partner of the private equity investment fund Patriot Financial Partners.

“We thank Jim for his service and the creative financial perspectives he provided,” Bob Kellner, CEO of Spiezle, noted.

Kellner continued, “Skip and George bring diverse business and industry expertise to our firm. As Spiezle evolves and builds on its heritage steeped in K-12 and higher education, they will be instrumental in our continued growth and diversification into other markets.”

In addition to academia, Spiezle serves the senior living, corporate/commercial, government, hospitality, recreational, religious and residential markets. Spiezle offers planning and interior design services as well as traditional architecture.

Prior to joining Kaufman Zita, Cimino was president/CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton. In addition to his professional employment, Cimino was a cabinet member in former New Jersey Governor Jim Florio’s administration, a member of Jim McGreevey’s transition team and a member of the New Jersey General Assembly. Additionally, he served as a freeholder and president of the Mercer County Freeholder Board, director of two chambers of commerce and president of the Hamilton Township Board of Education.

Before joining CMX, McCann held the post of senior vice president/regional manager at Metcalf & Eddy, an international environmental engineering firm. He also served as an assistant commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and a branch manager for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

“We are honored – and very fortunate – to have Skip and George on our board,” Kellner concluded. “In addition to their knowledge of and experience in both the public and private sectors, their reputations will be a valuable asset to our organization.”
