[ARCHIVE] Speedy Hire appoints Mark Rogerson as CEO

– UK – Speedy Hire Plc  announces that it has appointed Mark Rogerson as Chief Executive with effect from today.

Mark is currently Chief Operating Officer of the Group, having been appointed to the Board in December 2013.  Mark joined Speedy from Costain Group PLC where he was Managing Director of the Natural Resources division.  Prior to working at Costain, he spent 8 years at Serco Group plc in various senior leadership roles.

As previously announced, Steve Corcoran will step down from the Board of Speedy and leave the Group with effect from today.

Ishbel Macpherson, Chairman, said: “The Board and I are delighted that someone of Mark’s calibre and drive has taken up the challenge to lead Speedy at this exciting point in its development. Steve has been at the forefront in the transformation of Speedy and I would like to personally thank him for his commitment and leadership and wish him well in his future career.”

About Mark Rogerson MBE

Mark Rogerson MBE was appointed to the Board of Speedy as Chief Operating Officer in December 2013. Mark has a wealth of experience in both the construction and engineering industries from his recent time at Costain Group PLC (“Costain”). He also has a deep understanding of client facing service industry needs from his 8 years with international services company Serco Group plc (“Serco”). At Costain he served on the Operating Board as Managing Director of the Natural Resources division, where he had responsibility for the major sectors of nuclear, oil and gas, and water and waste. During his 8 years with Serco, Mark held a number of Senior Executive roles, his final role was as Serco’s Global Operational Efficiency Director. Mark started his career with the RAF and held various operational roles; he was awarded an MBE for services to the public sector. He holds fellowships at the Institute of Directors and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
