Seplat Energy appoints Board member Bashirat Odunewu as new Senior Independent Director

– NIGERIA, Lagos –  Seplat Energy Plc (NGX: SEPLAT / LON: SEPL) announced the appointment of current Board member Bashirat Odunewu as the new Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, effective April 25, 2025, succeeding Bello Rabiu, who stepped down from the Board.

About Bashirat Odunewu

Mrs. Bashirat Odunewu joined the Seplat Energy Board on May 18, 2022, during which time she has served as a Member of the Risk Management & HSSE Committee, Board Finance & Audit Committee, Nominations & Governance Committee, Statutory Audit Committee and Chairman of the Energy Transition Committee. She is the Chairman of the Board Finance and Audit Committee.

Bashirat Odunewu has 30 years of experience in the finance and banking industry, with a strong background in corporate banking, energy, natural resources, and infrastructure. She previously served as a C-suite executive at First Bank Nigeria Ltd and has held leadership roles overseeing international banking operations across multiple African countries and China.
