– UK, London – Schroders plc (LON: SDR | OTC: SHNWF) today announced the appointment of Iain Mackay to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective 1 January 2024.
“I am delighted that Iain has agreed to join the Board in January when he leaves GSK. In addition to his experience as CFO of FTSE 100 companies, Iain brings considerable knowledge of global organizations operating in many of the international markets in which we operate,” said Board Chair, Elizabeth Corley.
Iain Mackay will also join the Audit and Risk Committee and the Nominations Committee.
About Iain Mackay
Iain Mackay is currently CFO at GSK plc and was previously CFO of HSBC Holdings.
Iain joined GSK and was appointed to the Board in January 2019, becoming CFO in April of that year. He is currently a member of the GSK leadership team and is responsible for Global Finance and several of GSK’s key global functions including Investor Relations, Digital & Tech, and Global Procurement. Iain will step down as CFO and Executive Director on 1 May 2023 and will leave GSK on 31 December 2023.
Before joining GSK, Iain was Group Finance Director at HSBC Holdings plc, a position he held for eight years. Iain has lived and worked in Asia, the US, and Europe before HSBC was at General Electric, Schlumberger Dowell, and Price Waterhouse.
Iain holds an MA in Business Studies and Accounting and holds an Honorary Doctorate from Aberdeen University in Scotland. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Iain serves as a Non-Executive Director, Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee, and Member of the Remuneration Committee at National Grid plc. He is also a Member of the Court of the University of Aberdeen and Chair of its Remuneration Committee.
