About Richard von Gnechten
Richard von Gnechten serves as WaterStone’s COO and Chief Gift Strategist, with a passion for helping Christian leaders fulfill their Kingdom calling. He brings nearly 30 years of senior financial executive experience across various industries, including financial services, energy, real estate, healthcare, and non-profit sectors.
Before joining Waterstone, Richard von Gnechten spent a decade as CFO/COO for a registered investment advisor, where he grew assets under management from $400 million to $1.2 billion. He has also held CFO roles at a $2 billion NYSE-listed company and led corporate finance and strategic planning initiatives for multiple organizations.
Richard von Gnechten is actively involved in education and community service, having served on numerous boards, including Christian schools, and as an adjunct faculty member in investment and strategic planning.
He holds an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, completed Stanford’s Financial Management Program, and earned a BA in Economics from the University of Denver.
