– UK, London – J Sainsbury plc (LON: SBRY), today announced that Keith Weed and Tanuj Kapilashrami will join the Board as Non-Executive Directors on 1 July 2020.
Keith will be a member of the Audit, the Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability and the Nomination Committees and Tanuj will join the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

J Sainsbury plc announced on 30 October 2019 that Matt Brittin, Non-Executive Director and Jean Tomlin, Non-Executive Director planned to step down. Matt and Jean will step down from the Board at the AGM on 2 July.
Martin Scicluna added: “I would also like to thank Matt and Jean for their excellent contributions to the business. Matt has been on the Board for nine years and Jean for more than seven. I am very grateful to them both and wish them all the best for the future.”
About Keith Weed
Keith has a strong business background, having spent 36 years at Unilever, most recently as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer which included leading the company’s groundbreaking sustainability programme globally. Keith led different parts of Unilever’s businesses including working as a key supplier to Sainsbury’s when he ran Unilever’s Home and Personal Care business in the UK in the early 2000s. He has an excellent understanding of digital and the ways that technology is transforming businesses. Keith is also a Non-Executive Director of WPP PLC.

Tanuj is a highly experienced HR professional with significant experience in talent and change management. Tanuj is currently Group Head of HR at Standard Chartered Bank. Tanuj joined Standard Chartered in 2017 from HSBC, where she spent 17 years in key global and regional operational HR roles.
