Rolls-Royce announces Birgit Behrendt to join its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London –  Rolls-Royce Holdings plc (LON: RR) today announced the appointment of Birgit Behrendt to its Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from the AGM on 11 May 2023.

She combines deep experience across global procurement and supply chain management with extensive experience leading large, complex projects across many geographies. She is a passionate advocate for sustainability and transformation and also has a strong track record and ongoing interest in developing, mentoring and coaching key talent and encouraging women in particular to consider a career in STEM.” said Board Chair, Dame Anita Frew. 

Birgit Behrendt will also join the Nominations & Governance Committee and the Safety, Ethics & Sustainability Committee.

About Birgit Behrendt

Birgit Behrendt, a German national, brings extensive global operational experience in large, complex international industrial groups having spent much of her executive career at Ford Motor Company, latterly as VP of Global Purchasing. She has experience in leading large projects and oversaw Ford’s European joint ventures and alliances with operations in Europe and Asia. Her non-executive appointments have focused on industrial groups beyond the automotive industry, all with a focus on sustainability and transformation. She is currently a non-executive director of Umicore SA, Thyssenkrupp AG, and KION Group AG.
