The Possible Project (TPP) appoints Jay Moody and Glenn Batchelder to its Board of Directors

– USA, MA – The Possible Project (TPP), a non-profit organization that teaches high school students how to start and run their own businesses through a tailored curriculum and access to technology and mentors from the local business community, announced today the appointments of former Intuit Innovation Leader, Jay Moody, and former Civitas Therapeutics co-founder and CEO, Glenn Batchelder, to its board of directors. The appointments of Mr. Moody and Mr. Batchelder add to an impressive lineup of board members with broad experiences in startups, technology, business innovation and education.

After spending his early career leading innovation programs of publicly traded companies, Jay Moody is now working to bring innovation and entrepreneurship skills to Boston-area youth. In 2000, after a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT in the Research Lab of Electronics, he helped launch a web-based startup Vistaprint, which grew to 3,000 employees and $2 billion market capitalization within 10 years. At Vistaprint, Mr. Moody led the New Products Group, and then conceived and directed the Vistaprint Innovation Program. In 2011, Mr. Moody joined Intuit, maker of TurboTax and QuickBooks, as Innovation Leader, where he directed a program to help employees launch new lines of business for the company. Mr. Moody is now applying innovation strategies developed in corporate environments to solve problems outside of the corporate world. He has taught innovation and entrepreneurship to middle and high school students in various programs around Boston including Citizen Schools, The Possible Project, Youth CITIES and Wayland High School and is particularly interested in bringing entrepreneurial skills to underserved youth. Mr. Moody holds a B.A. in chemistry from Austin College and a Ph.D. in cognitive science from the University of California, San Diego.

Glenn Batchelder is an entrepreneur with more than 15 years leading successful biotech organizations. He was most recently the co-founder and CEO of Civitas Therapeutics, a pulmonary delivery company with a lead program for treating Parkinson’s disease, which was acquired by Acorda Therapeutics in 2014. Prior to Civitas, he was the founding CEO of BIND Therapeutics (Nasdaq: BIND), a leading nanotherapeutics company. Prior to BIND, Mr. Batchelder was the CEO of Acceleron Pharma (Nasdaq: XLRN) an oncology and supportive care biotherapeutics company. Previously, Mr. Batchelder was senior vice president of operations at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where he played an integral leadership role in the launch of VELCADE® and was responsible for the commercial supply chain and technical operations for INTEGRILIN®. He currently serves on the board of directors of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. Mr. Batchelder holds a B.A. in chemical engineering from Lehigh University.
