Petropavlovsk welcomes Aziz Musakhanov to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London –  Petropavlovsk PLC (LON: POG) today announced the appointment of Mirzaaziz (Aziz) Musakhanov as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Mr Musakhanov was nominated as a Director by Aeon Mining Limited, the Company’s largest shareholder. In line with the Company’s governance procedures, the appointment of Mr Musakhanov was reviewed by the Nominations Committee prior to recommendation to the Board for approval.

The Company has entered into a relationship agreement with Aeon Mining Limited and Mr Roman Trotsenko, its beneficial owner, in line with best corporate governance practice.

His extensive and diverse business experience will make a significant contribution to the future of our Company. Mr Musakhanov currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Novaport Group, one of the largest private operators of regional airports in Russian. He is also a director at GeoProMining Group, an international diversified mining company which extracts and processes gold, silver, antimony and copper in Russia and Armenia. He has over 20 years of experience in finance and industry.

Mr Musakhanov has an MSc Finance from the London Business School and a BSc Physics from Moscow State University.
