– FINLAND – At a meeting held on 5 November, the Supervisory Board of Metsä Group’s parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, elected Mikael Silvennoinen (58), M.Sc. (Econ.), to be a new member of the Board of Directors as of 1 January 2015. Silvennoinen currently works as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for executive search company IMS Talent. Before his current position, Silvennoinen had a long career with the Pohjola Group, most recently (1997–2013) as the President and CEO of Pohjola Bank Plc.In accordance with the rules of the Cooperative, Eino Halonen, who has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2006, will resign having turned the age of 65.
