Mansfelder Kupfer und Messing (MKM) announces Roland Harings as the incoming CEO

– GERMANY – MKM Mansfelder Kupfer und Messing GmbH (MKM) announces today that Roland Harings will become the new CEO. With more than 1,000 employees and a turnover of more than €1.0 billion (2013) MKM is one of the four leading manufacturers of semi-finished copper products. The company processed more than 260,000 t copper in the last year. Harings takes over the management from interim CEO Dr. Thomas ForsterRoland Harings is presently Vice President of Novelis Inc., Atlanta (USA) and also manages the European automotive component supply business of Novelis. With a turnover of ca. USD10 billion Novelis is the leading manufacturer of flat-rolled aluminium products worldwide. The 51-year old certified engineer (RWTH Aachen) signifies the extraordinarily positive turnover and earnings performance in the automotive component supply business of Novelis.

We are very glad that we could win Roland Harings as new head of our management,” says Ian Howard, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MKM GmbH which has been belonging to a group of investors around Hannam & Partners, London, since 2013. Roland Harings will manage the company together with Gerhard Bickmann who has been CFO of the company since May. Bickmann contributes his extensive experience as CFO of leading medium-sized companies – from telecommunication to industry. Roland Harings: “It is an honour to be trusted with the management of MKM with its more than 100 years of tradition. We want to utilize the knowledge and capabilities which already exist in our company today even better to develop new products, open up new customer groups and to invest for this objective purposefully.”
