Lumene Oy appoints Michel Dallemagne as incoming CEO

– FINLAND, Espoo – Lumene Oy announces the appointment of Michel Dallemagne as CEO, joining on May 5th 2015. He will be responsible for accelerating the growth of the business internationally, building on the solid foundation, achieved to date under the leadership of Tapio Pajuharju and the management team.

Michel joins Lumene from Unilever where he was responsible for the global haircare business as well as a member of the global executive management team as Executive Vice President, Category Haircare. On joining, his focus will be accelerating the international growth and profitability of Lumene. Michel is a very accomplished leader with a proven track record in creating significant business growth. He brings to Lumene a wealth of experience in growing personal and beauty care brands internationally together with expertise in customer development, brand management and digital marketing.

In his role at Unilever, he doubled Unilever’s global hair care business, partly through organic growth and partly via the acquisition of Alberto Culver, Kalina, TIGI and the T&G franchise in retaiI. The key brands under his management were TRESemme, Dove hair, Clear, Suave MB and Lux hair. He grew the business to a close No 2 position to market leadership in the US. Prior to this role, he ran the haircare business in Asia from 2005. In his earlier role as Chairman, Unilever Vietnam he grew the business 6 fold over a 5 year tenure. In addition he led Unilever’s global partnership with Google. During his early career in Unilever of over 30 years, he held senior General Management, Marketing and Sales roles working in Asia, Europe and the USA.
