Legal & General Group announces Mark Jordy to join its Board as Non-Executive Director and appoints Henrietta Baldock as next Senior Independent Director

– UK, London –  Legal & General Group plc (LON: LGEN) announced the appointment of current Board member Henrietta Baldock as Senior Independent Director designate, to succeed Lesley Knox as SID with effect from 21 May 2025, and announced the appointment of Mark Jordy to its Board as a Non-Executive Director effective from 1 July 2025.

Mark has been the Chair of our Asset Management business for a year now, and on the LGIM(H) board for three, and brings deep experience in asset management from his executive and non-executive career. This will reinforce the Board’s oversight as Legal & General executes its strategy, in particular the focus on growth in public and private markets, and I very much look forward to working with him in his new capacity as Group Board non-executive director,” said Board Chair, Sir John Kingman, Group Chair. “Henrietta has made a terrific contribution to the Board over the last six years, and I am looking forward to working with her in her new role.”

Mark Jordy will join the Group Nominations and Corporate Governance, Remuneration and Risk Committees.

Concurrently, Lesley Knox and Philip Broadley will retire from the Board at the end of their nine-year tenure on the Board.

About Henrietta Baldock

Henrietta Baldock joined the Board in October 2018 as a Non-Executive Director and is a member of the Group Nominations and Corporate Governance, Remuneration, and Risk Committees. She is also chair of the Company’s principal insurance operating subsidiary, Legal & General Assurance Society Limited (LGAS). As SID designate, Henrietta will lead the Board succession process for the Chair.

About Mark Jordy

Mark Jordy is Chair of LGIM(H) and brings to the Board significant experience in asset management through his executive and non-executive career, and will bolster the Board’s oversight of Legal & General’s growth plans for the Asset Management business. He previously held various roles at Wellington Management Company, including Chief Executive, at the EMEA Office. He is a Non-Executive Director for LGT, a European private bank, and LGT Capital Partners, a global alternatives manager.
